Yet another Facebook rant status:

“Can we be real for a sec? This has been bothering me for a while now.
I hate it when ppl. tell me “they learned Japanese from anime” X/
..? So you learned KANJI from anime, ’cause that’s apart of the language too, you know ~.~ ‘Cause there’s NO anime (that you would watch here in the States, anyway) that teaches you both how to speak & how to write Japanese; there just aren’t. Also, knowing a decent amount of phrases, but not being fluent, doesn’t count, never counted, & will never count. That’s just an asinine thing to say you know a language b/c you know a few phrases, like with Japanese, saying “hontou?”, “daijoubu?”, “sugoi”, & “baka” incessantly like someone who’s recently escaped the loony bin. I’m not including ‘desU’ vs ‘des(u)’, in which case the ‘u’ is silent even though it’s spelled ‘desu’, b/c both weeaboos & ppl. who actually know the language (not including actual Japanese ppl. for this example) alike will correct you in the most d*uchy way possible &, to me, is the trademark of a total d*uchebag/someone I wouldn’t give the time of day anyway ~.~
I keep hearing supposed non-weeaboos say this b.s. line, but in my opinion this is the most weeaboo-to-the-max/borderline retarded thing you can possibly say ’cause it’s impossible & it makes no sense. Your brain should have literally kicked in before you even uttered that phrase & prevented your lips from moving to stop such dumba$$ dribble from falling out of your mouth, but CLEARLY your brain is on vacation -_-
Also, if you say this, STOP SAYING IT, IT MAKES NO SENSE & THAT’S WHY YOU’RE LOSING FRIENDS!!! No one likes to hang around someone that delusional, that weeaboo, that unbearably immature; even weeaboos wouldn’t want to hang out with your weeaboo a$$ (even more truth be told, weeaboos don’t like weeaboos…like with hipsters).
That’s my 2 cents, have a lovely day…despite the rain & dreary weather (at on the East Coast) >.>”
Seriously, there’s katakana, hiragana, & finally Kanji to learn for Japanese. Only knowing how to speak it, even if you were fluent, is not knowing the entire language; it’s one of those languages where it’s completely possible to wind up being functionally illiterate, in which you only know how to write/speak it but not the other due to writing it & speaking it being so vastly ‘different’, at least as for as an American learning the language is concerned.
As an English speaker in general, you now have to learn a completely different writing system to what you knew all your life, which is what makes the language so difficult to learn. For example, from an English speaker’s perspective, compare learning Spanish/French to learning Arabic/Japanese/Russian, kinda speaks for itself, doesn’t it? Granted, that’s assuming you know what the writings for these languages look like ~.~
So, yeah, don’t f***ing say this ’cause it makes no sense.
