So, imagine my surprise when I was filing for unemployment for a little of the week, “Oh, yeah, b/c d*uches in congress, unemployment benefits have been cut off. What a freakin’ surprise -_-”
…Now, I mean this from the bottom of my heart & with every ounce of my soul:
F*CK THE REPUBLICAN PARTY LEADERS, I HOPE ALL OF THOSE THAT WISH TO C*CKBLOCK, RAPE, & TORTURE PROGRESS BURN IN HELL ‘TIL THE END OF DAYS & BEYOND.
That’s twice in recent years, b/c of GoP bullsh*t c*ckblocking & general impediment of progress in Congress & beyond, has directly negatively effected me. A little while ago I was a gov’t contractor (for the NIH no less, that one group that especially was f’ed over by the gov’t shutdown due to all the medical research that had to be halted b/c GoP/Tea Partiers had a temper tantrum) & any respectable news station will tell you (save Fox & any of its affiliates, they never f’ing count & haven’t for the last forever), the gov’t shutdown -which cuts employment for all gov’t contractors w/o compensation afterwards, some temporary, some permanent- happened a day after my last day of work.
Now, the reason why my contract was cut short was due to a lack of funds, a lack of funds directly caused by the uncertainty of wtf gov’t was going to do on rewarding more $$$ for their budget, which effects any & all gov’t contractors. So, gov’t shutdown, last day of employment, & no $$$. Oh, & freakin’ Kelly Gov’t Solutions (big name gov’t contractor recruiting group), f*ck you too, b/c you did jack squat to help me when I needed the most. Basically became a game of e-mail tag with me going “When’s the interview?” & them going “Let me get back to you on that“. Seriously, had an interview to be scheduled & they never got back to me on that, even after asking them about it multiple times. way to do business a$$wipes. So, yeah, I did everything I could, meet me half way will ya’? Anyway, this was the first time GoP f’ed things up for me recently (there’s obviously a myriad of other things I could list, but this article’s already long enough as it is).
Now there’s this; budget wasn’t extended for unemployment benefits, b/c, as Rand Paul puts it, ‘It would be a ‘disservice’ to workers’ (link: CNN) & as other Republicans put it “the extended emergency federal benefits – passed during the Great Recession – are a disincentive for job hunting and are no longer necessary as the economy improves and unemployment ticks down” (link: CNN). How it’s a ‘disservice’ to ppl. who need the $$$ is beyond me.
These are the same ppl. who’d swear up & down the exact opposite & have been saying such the entirety of Obama being in office; employment ISN’T getting any better & the economy ISN’T getting any better to boot. So, why the hell now with the sudden optimism? Oh, that’s right, progress is your kryptonite. D*mn shame too, since you have some Republicans who are actually trying to change things for the better & actually give a f**k about their constituents & aren’t just solely focused on doing everything in their power to c*ckblock Obama’s & the Democrats crusade for positive changes, namely Obamacare.
“Why do you keep blaming the Republican party leaders? Democrats are just as much to blame for the lack of progress in Congress!”
That’s hilarious, what jacka$$ still believes this (I know there’s a lot of them, but I still find it hard to believe ppl. are this stupid)? If you look at CNN, MSNBC, local news (that isn’t f’ing Fox news, ’cause they don’t f’ing count; heck, ET & TMZ have more accurate reporting of the news than they do) you will notice one constant from Congress; Democrats try to do something, pass a law perhaps, put it to the floor, killed by Republicans. Every time anybody tries to do something productive, the GoP & Tea Partiers vote against it. Mind you, the only ppl. attempting to do anything productive are Democrats. Republicans in power at this point are basically like Hipsters; always the first to cast stones, criticize others, but yet have nothing to show of their progress & in fact are doing little to nothing in their lives save insulting others who are actually being productive. Not to mention leaching off others for their sustenance but–actually, upon really looking into it, the present GoP & hipsters have a LOT in common. More alarmingly, with how much the GoP questions & challenges everything from the Democrats, they have little (if any) solutions to all the problems put forth for Congress to solve/alleviate or alternatives to things Democrats have suggested. Don’t like Obamacare? Then what’s your alternative? Don’t like this law being put to the floor? Then what’s your amended version? They love to out a lot of “problems” but offer no real solutions or alternatives. Suggesting something that will either hinder any changes being made or is worse than what was originally put forth doesn’t count. Last time I checked, people like that are generally ignored as being attention whores that rather put others down to make themselves look good but not actually do anything of import. Hell, the GoP used to not be this way, but apparently having a Black man (even though he’s biracial, they call him Black ~.~) in office = no progress has to be made on the GoP’s half; impeding it, however, is considered progress.
Now, fortunately I start work this week after looking for months; granted, the unemployment benefits would have been for last week, however, millions of other Americans aren’t so lucky. Some have been actively looking for years & still haven’t found anything. Republicans love to forget one of the major reasons why unemployment for at least the Blacks is so high is due to a racism being prevalent in the job market. Is every case of job rejection for a person of color due to this? No. Does it occur more often than one would hope? D*mn straight it does. As a Black person, you always have to have this in the back of your mind; whether I was rejected b/c I truly wasn’t qualified or was it b/c the color my skin? You rarely, if ever, know for sure, hence the constant paranoia. For me, one such “Is it racism?” incident during my job hunt was being rejected for an ENTRY LEVEL position, despite having previous work experience in the IT field & this position honestly being beneath me, &, here’s the kicker, they had a “snow white” office with the darkest person in there being Asian & the only Black being a mail delivery person (who didn’t work there anyway); surprise surprise, I wasn’t hired X/ Anyway, like I was saying millions of Americans aren’t as lucky; i.e., starting a job at least a week before/same week this happened, & it’s a d*mn shame anyone would delude their self into believing that unemployment benefits aren’t necessary due to the economy & market being so ‘great’ (rly? Why don’t you go check in with Nevada & ask them how unemployment rates are going…up). Of course, unless this present debacle of a Republican party stops riding the d*ck of “We HAVE to stop Obamacare at ALL COSTS!!” nothing’s ever really going to be done.
Hell, this was supposed to be a “short” rant; i.e., short for me, but there’s just too much to say, too much to explain, & too much frustration.
