Yet another facebook status for maximum justice (7/13/13):
“I love it when people make statuses that end with/involve “I don’t care what nobody says, this is my opinion”…then immediately defriend/block anyone the moment they somewhat challenge it or question the fractured logic behind said opinion.
It’s that level of hypocrisy that reminds me why I love challenging people’s fractured logic so much & reminds me why I have a blog name that involves the phrase ‘(slightly) misanthropic.’ Gotta love hypocrites ~.~”
Just in general, if you know you’re the type that doesn’t like it when people challenge your opinions, then don’t state them out loud to be challenged in the first place; or, don’t make claims that you can’t possibly live up to; or, don’t be so cowardly & feeble minded to crumble & run away from whenever someone (somewhat) challenges your opinion, defend it if it’s so important to you that you needed to state it; or, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion but some are better left unstated; or, just because it’s your opinion doesn’t make it ‘right’, ethical, or make any kind of sense.
Heck, there’s a lot of ways to go with this, but the main thing is if something really means a lot to you that you feel particularly compelled to state it somewhere online, be prepared to either defend it or ignore people who challenge it, because you’re probably going to have to deal with it one way or the other, but (in the case of Facebook) defriending/blocking someone because they don’t 100% agree with you is stupid, childish, & lame & you seriously need to get over yourself if this is your first response to whenever someone questions you. That happens a lot in life & you can’t always just run away from it & pretend no one disagrees with you, that’s not going to work in the long run.
